Truck drivers, owners and contractors are advised to verify whether the areas where they deliver debris or murram to, are approved by NEMA or delegated authority.

Transfer, Extension or Variation of ESIA
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) hereby informs the public that with effect from 24th September 2021.
(i) All applications for transfer, extension or variation of a Certificate of approval must be accompanied with a duly filled appropriate application form and required supporting documents. If the application is found satisfactory, the applicant will be notified to pay the requisite fees. Application forms are available on the NEMA Website.
(ii) All submissions of Project Briefs or ESIA Study must be accompanied with proof of payment of 30% of the fees payable.
This is in line with regulations 7(2), 18(3), 26, 27, 30 and 49(2), and (3) and Schedules 3 and 4 of the National Environment (Environmental and Social Assessment) Regulations 2020, and the National Environment Act No.5 of 2019.
NOTE: Applications for wetland user permits and/or extensions and submission of briefs or Environment and Social Impact Assessment Studies for projects in wetlands remain suspended.
