NEMA Moments Campaign<\/span>\n <\/h1>\n

NEMA Moment is an environmental awareness raising campaign led by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) in partnership with various media houses and online platforms to reach communities on current environmental issues with particular emphasis on the anti-littering campaign, waste management and their associated legal provisions.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

Public awareness about these issues fosters responsibility and compels individuals, institutions and communities to adopt eco-friendly waste handling and management practices, advocate for sustainable policies, and participate in conservation efforts in their localities.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

Uganda is experiencing numerous environmental challenges including, but not limited to deforestation, wetland degradation, noise pollution, the evil of plastics and litter & waste management. These challenges need a multi-faceted approach to address, including policy interventions, enforcement and public education, among others.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n Objectives<\/strong><\/span>\n <\/p>\n

The objective of NEMA moments is to create awareness on NEMA\u2019s mandate.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n Target audience<\/strong><\/span>\n <\/p>\n

The NEMA Moments campaign is designed to reach a multiplicity of audiences of all ages and backgrounds in different geographical localities across Uganda<\/span>\n <\/p>\n

\n Messages    <\/strong><\/span>\n <\/p>\n

Different short messages ranging from waste management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment application process, Noise Pollution control, Air Quality etc. are developed to support the campaign and shared on different platforms.<\/span>\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n
