font-size: 16px;\"><b>Why It Matters<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Poor sanitation contributes to <b>75% of Uganda\u2019s disease burden<\/b>, including malaria, cholera, and typhoid.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Every month, Ugandans will dedicate <b>7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on the last Saturday<\/b> to cleaning their communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li2\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Movement restrictions during these hours ensure maximum participation, with only emergency services exempted.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><b>Building a Culture of Cleanliness<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The initiative is designed to become a <b>national culture<\/b>, not just a one\u2011day event. It complements Uganda\u2019s environmental restoration gains, including increases in <b>forest cover (12.7%)<\/b> and <b>wetland cover (13.9%)<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">NEMA calls on all citizens to continue embracing this responsibility, making cleanliness part of Uganda\u2019s identity and pride.
