NEMA, through its Strategic Planning and Partnerships Division, has held a data validation meeting with government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to review environmental statistics, identify gaps, and align indicators for national planning.

An harmonized national data is crucial for coordinating, supervising, and regulating environmental management in Uganda and the MDAs affirmed their commitments towards national data harmonization.

The data was sourced from agencies including National Forestry Authority, National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), Uganda Wildlife Authority, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, Uganda National Meteorological Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Industry,  Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (Uganda) and others.
