"Ensuring Sustainable Development"

NEMA rallies communities in Kabale to join in tree planting.

In preparation for the World Environment Day (WED) celebrations on June 25, 2025, NEMA has rallied local communities in Kabale to actively participate in tree planting efforts. This initiative is part of the ongoing pre-WED activities aimed at fostering environmental conservation. This year’s WED is being celebrated under the theme “United Against Plastic Pollution”.

The tree planting exercise will be carried out on the hills of Kijulera and Kanayankwanzi in Kituma sub-county, with community members playing a central role in the restoration process.

To ensure sustainability, the engagement culminated in the formation of a Community Environment Restoration Committee. This committee will spearhead the tree planting efforts and oversee the maintenance of the restored areas.
