Before support from the Elgon Project Kalaa Magosi Area Cooperative Ltd had 1006 famers from 35 farmers groups. Upon funding from the Elgon Project, the group has been able to support up to 3000 famers in Sironko and Bulambuli districts with a vision to reach 15000 farmers in five years.

This was communicated during the NEMA Board of Directors visit in the area, situated in Busiita Village, Buhugu Sub county in Budariri County in Sironko.

The Elgon Project aims at promoting Integrated Landscape Management Approach for Conservation and improvement of livelihoods through value addition around Mt. Elgon landscape in Eastern Uganda with funding from Global Environment Facility.
