Uganda Flowers Exporters Association Meets NEMA

The Uganda Flowers Exporters Association held a consultative meeting with Dr. Barirega Akankwasah the Executive Director of the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), led by Mrs. Susan K. Muhwezi, Senior Presidential Advisor in the Export Led Growth Strategy Unit (ELGSU).

The discussions focused on:

  • Streamlining regulatory and permitting processes to support timely development and operation of export infrastructure.
  • Enhancing environmental compliance requirements with better coordination and predictability to minimize operational delays.
  • Improving efficiency in the processing and approval of certificates.

This engagement underscores the shared commitment to balance environmental protection with Uganda’s urgent national objective of boosting export competitiveness and driving private sector growth.
